Functional Floor Plan Meets Flexible Design
The New Modern Rambler
Our latest build, the Modern Prairie Rambler, showcases a new main-level floor plan designed to suit the needs of families and empty nest-er's alike. This new construction luxury home is both perfectly functional yet aesthetically appealing to the eye. Based-off the recently completed Modern Minnesota Rambler home, the team took previous features to create a 2.0 version in the Deer Hill Preserve neighborhood.
With functionality and practical design in mind, we think the new rambler model is the new dream layout. Here are the top reasons why this particular rambler floor plan is superior to the rest!
Built-in Privacy with Naptime Doors and a Bedroom Wing
“Naptime” doors separate 3 generous bedrooms from the rest of the main level allowing for privacy and sound control. The 3 bedrooms off the main living area are easily navigated by the main hallway and through connecting Jack & Jill baths, laundry room and owner’s suite. The laundry room is central to this wing, a few steps from each room, with the utmost convenience attaching to the owner’s walk-in custom closet.
It’s not often that you will find 3 bedrooms on the main floor of a rambler home, and to further showcase the flexibility of this home’s floor plan we’ve staged this third bedroom as an option to convert into an office.
Flexibility to Add on An Athletic Court
When we placed our architectural design on this premium lot in the Deer Hill Preserve neighborhood, we not only positioned the home for long western views overlooking Baker Park Preserve, but also arranged the layout with the ability to add on an indoor athletic court.
Our pocket office with a connecting pantry just behind the kitchen is not only a great usage of functional floor space but also holds ample opportunity to segway into a sport court overlook off this side of the house for families looking to build a premium addition where their kids can play all year round.
Variety in Ceiling Height and Larger Windows For Vaulted, Bright Spaces
Because this home is set on the highest point in the Deer Hill neighborhood, we wanted to design a floor plan that highlighted the panoramic westward views over scenic Baker Park Reserve. This rambler layout provides the opportunity for 12-foot ceilings in the great room and allows for expansive windows to set a stunning scene for anyone who walks into this home. The seamless transition from the 12' ceilings in the great room to the 9’ ceilings in the dining room aid in the spacious, open-concept atmosphere of this rambler’s layout as well.
Entertainment Spaces For All Ages
On the main floor, the open concept great room and kitchen area are fit for all of your hosting needs. A walk-up wine bar complete with a Sub Zero wine cooler is perfect for making cocktails and entertaining guests.
The lower level is also set up for entertaining kids and adults alike with a sunken media room, wet bar and island area, along with a secret kid’s play area. There’s also plenty of room for a billiards table or ping pong you name it!
Rambler homes are convenient, can be economical to build and maintain, and particularly friendly to both young families, who might like to keep children close by, and empty-nesters looking to downsize or move to a step-free home. We feel like the layout of this Modern Prairie Rambler has everything in mind to be functional and pleasing to homebuyers of all kinds.
